Tonight’s PDC Home Tour features Gabriel Clemens, Jelle Klaasen, Ryan Meikle and Gavin Carlin. Clemens is the favourite to qualify at 5/4, followed by Klaasen at 15/8, Meikle at 4/1 and Carlin at 6/1.
Group winner
While the prices suggest Clemens should win the group relatively comfortably, I think it is much closer than the odds suggest, with the relatively unknown Ryan Meikle good value.
The 23-year-old from Ipswich continues to improve year on year, and while his TV tournament form hasn’t been the greatest, he continues to impress away from the camera. He’s available at 4/1 to make it through this wide-open group.
Jelle Klaasen continues to carry on in his Top 50 position in the world for what seems like 245 years, and while in recent matches he has shown glimpses of his BDO World Championship winning form, he continues to run very hot and cold at the oche and looks vulnerable here against Ryan Meikle.
Klaasen has struggled in the T20 bed recently, and Meikle to hit most 180s and win @ 4/1 looks great value.
Gabriel Clemens has arguably been the most improved player in the last few years, showing himself to be a real threat in the major tournaments and proving difficult to beat.
His game is incredibly consistent and I can see him powering past Ireland’s Gavin Carlin with relative ease. Carlin himself has showed very little form this year so far and 7/2 for Clemens to win -3.5 looks of real value
