Boston Celtics @ Dallas Mavericks – NBA Finals
Thursday 1:30am
Series scoreline: Dallas Mavericks 0-2 Boston Celtics
TV: TNT Sports

It’s now or never for the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Finals, with Luka Doncic and Co. currently 2-0 down in the best-of-seven series against the Boston Celtics with the championship on the line.

The Mavericks lost the first two games in Boston but the series is now heading to Dallas for games three and four.

History suggests that Dallas must win game three as no team has ever come back from being 3-0 down in a play-off series. Who will come out on top on Wednesday night? Here’s our Bet Builder!

Luka Doncic Over 32.5 Points

Doncic is hoping to win his first NBA championship and the potential next face of the league is doing all he can in the Finals against a stacked Celtics side.

The Slovenian put up 30 points and 10 rebounds in game one and he followed that up with a triple double of 32 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists in game two. However, neither efforts were enough to see Dallas secure a crucial win on the road in Boston.

Doncic, who needs more help from his team-mates if they are to win game three in Dallas, will be well aware of the need to avoid going 3-0 down in the series so expect him to put on a show once again.

The regular season scoring champion cannot be rushed and he can get to his spots whenever he wants. Doncic Over 32.5 Points is a smart first Bet Builder selection.

Luka Doncic Over 3.5 Made Threes

We’re backing Doncic to finish with at least 33 points and quite a few of those points will come from three-point range.

The 25-year-old is putting up an average of 9.8 three-point attempts per game in the play-offs, with an average of 3.4 of them going in.

Doncic, who is constantly running the Dallas offense, has attempted 10 or more threes in seven of his last nine outings and he’s made four or more shots from beyond the arc in his last six games. Doncic Over 3.5 Made Threes is an obvious pick.

Luka Doncic To Record 10+ Rebounds

Sticking with the Doncic to dominate in front of the Dallas home crowd theme, we’re also expecting him to be busy on the glass in game three.

The 6ft 7in guard leads the Mavericks in rebounds in the play-offs, with Doncic grabbing an average of 9.7 boards per game.

Doncic has hit double figures in rebounds in his last four outings and in eight of his last 10 post-season games. Expect more of the same with Dallas’ season pretty much on the line in game three. Doncic To Record 10+ Rebounds is our next fancy.

Derrick White Over 14.5 Points

From Dallas picks to Boston picks now, however, we’re staying away from their star men Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.

With the Mavericks, you know Doncic is always going to shine as he’s their main man with less help from his team-mates. With the Celtics, they have so many weapons that Tatum and Brown could have off nights but Boston can grind out a win with their other pieces.

That leads us to our next pick of Derrick White Over 14.5 Points. The guard has been a real X-Factor for Boston this season and he’s averaging 17.6 points per game in the play-offs, a tally only behind Tatum and Brown. That’s without even mentioning his defensive qualities.

White, who is a constant three-point threat by taking an average of 8.5 long-range efforts per game, finished with 15 points in game one and 18 points in game two of the Finals.

He’s ended up with 15 points in six of his last seven play-off outings and that should continue in game three.

Jrue Holiday To Record 6+ Rebounds

Finally, we’re siding with Jrue Holiday To Record 6+ Rebounds. The Celtics guard is well known for his defence and he also has championship experience after winning it all with the Milwaukee Bucks in 2021.

While his scoring can be a little hit and miss, his rebounding numbers have been solid in the play-offs. Holiday has grabbed six or more boards in in his last four games and in seven of his last 10 outings.

The 6ft 4in guard is the third-best rebounder on the Celtics this post-season and he’ll want to put his stamp on game three as Boston look to go 3-0 up.
