The Celtics comfortably handled the Cavs in Game 1 and we see little reason to think it’ll be any different in the second match-up of the series.
Many thought Kristaps Porzingis’ absence would have a bigger impact than it has on the league-topping regular season champs, but veteran Al Horford has stepped into the starting five and others have stepped up to make the big Lithuanian’s unavailability look less damaging to their championship hopes than first appeared.
Indeed, some might argue it has allowed them to up the pace of their play and scoring rate.
Add that to the state of Cleveland’s offence in Game 1 – where it was Donovan Mitchell and not much else – and you could expect another laboured effort from a team that knows this is where their season ends.
That could mean more looks for Boston’s shooters, and over on the home total makes sense in another likely blow out.
Derrick White Made Threes – Over 3.5
Among those shooters is a red-hot Derrick White.
He has made over 50% of his three attempts in five of their six playoff games so far. He is averaging over four made threes across the playoffs as well, and hit seven of nine in the series opener.
Put simply, we’re taking the hot-hand here.
Dallas Mavericks @ Oklahoma City Thunder
Luka Doncic Points & Rebounds – Under 40.5
If Luka Doncic was not clearly playing with a hampered knee we would not consider this line but he does not look anywhere near like his MVP-level self at the moment.
We’d expect him to bounce back from the 19-point performance of Game 1 but even if he gets close to his usual scoring output, it’s hard to imagine him fighting for the boards too with his mobility not what it should be, so we’ll add in rebounds here and play the under.
