Let’s be honest, last night’s WWE Summerslam dragged on worse than your Monday morning planning meeting. However, the main event made it all worth it.
The UFC-rumoured Brock Lesnar defended his unfortunately named WWE Universal Championship against Roman Reigns, Samoa Joe and Braun Strowman in a match so hard-hitting, it will put next week’s Mayweather v McGregor event to shame.
As a former UFC Heavyweight Champion, Lesnar is about as legit a title holder as the WWE has had in decades and yet his old life continues to haunt him as he was called out by MMA superstar Jon ‘Bones’ Jones at the recent UFC 214 pay-per-view.
Brock, through his delightful advocate Paul Heyman, had vowed to leave WWE behind if he lost last night and he was confronted with a much bigger problem than Jones last night in the form of Braun Strowman. The Monster Among Men dominated Lesnar like never before causing him to be taken from the arena on a stretcher after putting him through two ringside announce tables, before tipping a third onto the Universal champion.
Lesnar would ‘bravely’ return to pick up to retain his crown after hitting an F5 on Roman Reigns, but all the wrestling world could talk about was how Strowman decimated him earlier in the match and you can see it for yourself below:
