WWE Raw Review: Goldberg, Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker all in the same ring

Elsewhere Triple H’s presence was felt and Chris Jericho put the US title on the line

What a bloody slobberknocker! It’s fair to say last night’s Raw was an absolute classic, but if you somehow did manage to miss it – don’t worry we’ve got your back.

Being the last Raw before Sunday’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view it was always going to be good, but the crowd at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio were treated more surprises than Donald Trump dossier!

All the big names showed up last night and there was plenty of shocks to boot, so let’s pin them down for you!

Stare down for the ages sets up Rumble to remember

The Royal Rumble’s 30-man battle royal is about as stacked full of star names as Oceans Thirteen was at this point, but only the new favourite for the match Goldberg was advertised for last night’s show.

The former WCW champions closed the night telling the world he was going to Spear and Jackhammer the other 29 participants in the Rumble match, this drew Brock Lesnar’s advocate Paul Heyman from the shadows.

Shockingly Heyman introduced the Beast who made a beeline for the ring after being called a “dumbass” by Goldberg.

Just as it looked like the two monsters would throw down the legendary gong sounded and there was The Undertaker!

Game on for Seth Rollins as his Rumble spot goes up in smoke

They are not exactly foes, but Sami Zayn and Seth Rollins went toe to toe with The Architects’ spot in the Royal Rumble match on the line last night.

Of course these two didn’t disappoint and scrapped like their lives depended on it. Rollins would get the upperhand though, Pedigreeing Zayn onto the ring apron.

Just as it looked like Rollins would secure the three count, Triple H’s music would hit. Seth has be calling The Game out for months and the distraction left him wide open to be rolled-up by Zayn.

For now it looks like the Rumble will have to do without Rollins, but what next for him and Triple H?

Team Kevin and Chris feel the walls closing in

After being challenged for his newly won US Title by former champion Roman Reigns to open Raw, Chris Jericho battled to keep his crown from The Big Dog.

Reigns takes on WWE Universal champion Kevin Owens for his belt on Sunday and Owens would spend the match (like Y2J will at the Royal Rumble) suspended above the ring in a shark cage.

After Jericho escaped with his title via disqualification but some bad news followed for Raw’s delightful double act.

Cue the best hissy fit you’re likely to see in a long time…

Well that’s a wrap wrestling geeks, see you tomorrow for the Smackdown Live review!
