14:50: Reverberation

REVERBERATION has remained in good form since landing a mile handicap here in January, finishing placed on his four subsequent starts. He was no match for a progressive winner (who has scored again subsequently) at Wolverhampton last time, but he’s not going to bump into a rival on such an upward curve here, and remains one to be interested in at this level. His last couple of efforts have been at around a mile, but he stays this trip well, and was an impressive winner over course and distance in December.

15:30 – Capulet

CAPULET looked a good prospect when making a winning start at Dundalk in August, proving professional as he fended off rivals with experience, and then ran an even better race in defeat when chasing home stablemate Diego Velazquez in the Champions Juvenile Stakes at Leopardstown. He ran to a similarly useful level when third in the Royal Lodge at Newmarket, despite shaping like the undulating track may not have been ideal. The way he stuck to his task after getting outpaced at Newmarket suggests he’ll be suited by a step up in trip, but has enough class to land this mile event on his return.

16:05 – Ayyab

AYYAB was unable to reward support at Southwell a couple of weeks ago, but she shaped nicely on her return to action, missing out by only a neck after being slightly impeded inside the final furlong by a rival who had an easy time of things on the front end. That’s a nice platform for Ayyab to build on and that race fitness could give her the edge on some of her rivals here.

16:40 – Capo Vaticano

Those with experience don’t set an exacting standard so it could be worth siding with CAPO VATICANO on her debut. The daughter of Calyx fetched 145,000 guineas as a yearling and is a half-sister of several winners, including a useful sort in Barrington. She is in excellent hands with Andrew Balding and this is a nice opportunity for her to get off the mark at the first attempt.

17:15 – Legacy Power

LEGACY POWER had the run of the race at Kempton last time but he always looked to be holding on and scored by a neck on his first attempt at two miles. He only edged up 1 lb in the weights for that success and remains relatively unexposed, so he holds obvious claims in the same grade here. Cheekpieces are fitted for the first time in a bid to eke out some improvement, while Callum Hutchinson takes off a handy 3 lb.

17:45 – Wake Up Harry

WAKE UP HARRY has done well since joining Brian Toomey, winning two of his first four starts for the yard, reacting positively to the application of headgear. He scored cosily in first-time blinkers at Wolverhampton last time and still looks well treated following a 3 lb rise in weight, so he looks worth siding with in this sort of form. Cheekpieces, which he wore when successful at Kempton in December, replace the blinkers.

18:15 – Profitman

PROFITMAN was found wanting less than had looked likely when third in a mile handicap here last month but he settled matters decisively when dropping a furlong to this trip at Wolverhampton last week. He won that in the style of one with more to offer and a 4 lb rise in the weights should not be enough to stop him following up.
