Football Accumulator Tips: Your 27/1 Euro acca for Friday night’s games

Our tipster Colin Harvey's got that Friday feeling once again.

We’ve another veritable feast of football on Friday night with action all across Europe and with at least one game in each of the big five leagues. I’ll be casting my beady eye over the action on the continent which comes from Germany, Italy, Spain and France to see us into the weekend in style.

WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

It’s Eintracht Frankfurt v Arminia Bielefeld kicking things off in the Bundesliga at 7.30pm before Verona v Bologna in Serie A gets going 15 minutes later.

La Liga and Ligue 1 take over at 8pm with Espanyol v Real Betis and a tasty derby between Lyon and Saint-Etienne both kicking off at the same time. It might not be the biggest names in the game but we should get plenty of tight matches and our fair share of action. Here’s a four fold to hopefully see us into the weekend in style.

7.30pm: Frankfurt v Arminia Bielefeld – Frankfurt to Win

TV: Sky Sports Football

Eintracht Frankfurt in 8th host relegation-threatened Arminia Bielefeld in the Bundesliga with the away side sitting in the drop zone playoff spot in 16th coming into this one. These two shared a 1-1 draw at the start of the season when Frankfurt were drawing every game going.

That stalemate came amid a run of six on the bounce in all competitions for Frankfurt but they’ve bucked their ideas up since and have been racking up the wins. They’ve won three of their last five, losing one and drawing one.

Arminia are in pretty good form by their standards and have two wins, two draws and a loss in their last five. They shocked RB Leipzig a few games ago but have struggled for consistency all season. With home advantage I’m happy to side with Frankfurt to Win.

7.45pm: Verona v Bologna – Over 2.5 Goals

TV: BT Sport 1

A mid-table clash in Serie A sees Verona in 10th welcome 13th-placed Bologna to the Marcantonio Bentegodi. Bologna are in turgid form and have lost five of their last six but did punctuate that with a 3-0 away win over Sassuolo.

Verona are pretty shoddy too, losing four of their last seven but winning two, drawing one and losing one of their last four. Bologna have had a pretty tough run of it of late so I’m not completely counting them out, instead I’ll side with Over 2.5 Goals.

Overs has clicked in eight of the home side’s last 11 games and four of Bologna’s last six. Neither defence is great but if Verona’s attack turn up like they have recently they might pass this benchmark themselves.

8pm: Espanyol v Real Betis – Betis to Win

TV: LaLigaTV and FreeSports

Manuel Pellegrini’s high-flying Betis travel to Espanyol on Friday looking to strengthen their grip 3rd place in La Liga. Espanyol are down in 11th and look destined for mid-table obscurity.

Espanyol last won five games ago and have drawn two and lost two in the meantime. Betis have won three of their last four but won just one in the five before that. These two played out a 2-2 draw earlier in the season with the Barcelona-based side grabbing a late equaliser after Betis went down to 10 men.

Espanyol needed a bit of luck to avoid defeat against Friday’s opponents then and I think they’ll need it again here, given Betis’ overall form. At a nice price I think it’s well worth a go on Betis to Win this one.

8pm: Lyon v Saint-Etienne – Lyon Win & Under 2.5 Goals

TV: BT Sport ESPN

We finish with two sides in pretty poor form as Lyon, who sit 11th in Ligue 1, play Saint-Etienne who are rock bottom of the French top flight. Lyon finally ended a remarkable run of six draws with a 1-0 win over Troyes last time out.

Saint-Etienne have lost six of their last eight, only winning two French Cup games in that run to save their blushes. Understandably Lyon are big favourites here, but can we find any value?

Despite their generosity in sharing the spoils of late I think we’re quite safe to side with Lyon to Win and it’s worth adding Under 2.5 Goals into the mix at quite superb odds. Unders has landed in Lyon’s last six matches in all competitions. If we take out the French Cup games it’s also come off in three of Saint-Etienne’s last five as well.
