Paddy Power Royal Rumble Fantasy Game winners and points announced

Roll up, roll up here’s the grapple news you’ve all been waiting for!

Comments

For well over a week you used Bobby “The Brain” Heenan like power to plan, plot and scheme your selections for Paddy Power’s Fantasy Royal Rumble and here’s the results.

With a trip to Raw’s TV taping in London on May 8th (as well as other fabulous prizes) on the line, you all scrapped as hard as the superstars in the Rumble to be the overall winner. But, like the 30-man extravaganza there could only be one victor!

As you know wrestling nerds, Randy Orton stormed to victory on Sunday night by eliminating Reigns to be the last man standing in the Royal Rumble match.

Not only is The Viper heading to the main event of Wrestlemania, he also was the top point scorer in our game thanks to his 25 point bonus for winning! His 55 point total also included a final four bonus and was bolstered by four devastating RKO’s, the last of which helped him to notch a handy six point elimination when Reigns was (thankfully) sent crashing to the floor in defeat.

Braun Strownman’s early exit cost him dear as his 51 point total (seven eliminations, top eliminator bonus and single survival) left him just short of Orton’s tally. If only he’d done a Running Power Slam or thrown one more jobber out!

There was no way you could win our game without having the Master of the RKO in your trio – who’s value had to make up 10 points or less. The winning combination came out as a Randy Orton, Dolph Ziggler and New Day’s Xavier Woods (5-3-2) at the end of the day on 82 points.

Ziggler was available to players at a bargain basement three points and went nuts in the Rumble, hitting a stunning five Superkicks and a survival for his 21 points. While Woods picked up six points for his two survivals and single finisher to make up the victorious combination.

Y2J made us drink in the Gift of Jericho for 61 minutes and he took home the 10-point Endurance Award for longest time in the match. Jericho also picked up the four-point add on for being in the final four and he was joined in that regard by Orton, Reigns and Bray Wyatt.

After pouring through over 3,000 entries, 17 lads come up with the victorious three-man combination and as per the rules we had a draw live on Twitter to decide the five winners!

The winners were as follows:

  • 1st Place – A trip to Raw London: Joseph Hegarty from Sheffield, Yorkshire.
  • 2nd Place – £100 in free bets and $100 WWE Shop gift card: Kevin Melling from Liverpool.
  • 3rd Place – €100 in free bets: David Ware from Co Donegal.
  • 4th Place – €50 in free bets: Chris Davidson from Co Cork.
  • 5th Place – €25 in free bets: Lee Bowman from Dover, Kent.

All the winners have been contacted about their prizes and all that’s left to say is thanks to all who entered, it will be back in 2018 when our favourite pay-per-view of the year swings around again.

If you were playing along with your friends at home, here’s the final points table for the 30 men who bravely battled in the Royal Rumble match is below:
