Great British Bake Off champ odds-on to join Channel 4 version of the show

The oven timer could be about to ring on Candice Brown’s time on the BBC

Newly-crowned Great British Bake Off winner Candice Brown could be set to disappoint BBC bosses – by ditching them for Channel 4’s version of the show.

A reported 15 million viewers watched the PE teacher triumph last night, as the show aired on the BBC for the final time.

And Paddy Power make her ODDS ON to follow Paul Hollywood in joining the controversial £75m switch.

All the best odds on TV novelties are on

They price the Bedfordshire baker 4/6 to join the first series of the new-look GBBO – and a distant 6/1 to have a BBC show next year.

A further clue could be in the bookies’ market on who Candice will invite to her wedding next year if she gets married – with Hollywood notably shorter priced than Mary Berry and presenters Mel & Sue.

Asked about a potential switch for GBBO champion spokesman Paddy Power said: “Lippy lover Candice would have a lot of making up to do with the BBC if she quit for the bright lights of Hollywood’s smile.

“It’d be a smacker for the viewers, who are still mysteriously smarting from the GBBO changing channels, as they are reportedly unable to.”
