With Viva Las Vegas off the cards, Conor McGregor is 22/1 to set up shop in New York

The Irish fighter has told the UFC president he wants out of Nevada

After receiving news of his huge $150,000 fine from Nevada Athletic Commission, Conor McGregor pulled out his phone to shoot UFC president Dana White a text.

McGregor was fined and also given 50 hours of community service for throwing cans at Nate Diaz and his crew during a press conference row in the run up to the UFC 202 event.

Being the company’s current cash cow allows the Dubliner freedom to make certain demands and this one was state-sized, telling the UFC supremo he never wanted to fight in Nevada – the home of organisation – again.

White agrees with McGregor by the way, taking issue with the severity of the punishment by accusing the commission of lacking “sense” in their decision while speaking on the Fox Sports show The Herd.

“Conor McGregor hit me up yesterday and said, ‘I don’t ever want to fight in Nevada again. Ever,’” said the UFC president.

“Now how does that make sense for the state of Nevada? You’re going to try to fine this kid, and Nate, that much money.

“And guess what? Conor McGregor doesn’t need Nevada. He can fight anywhere, it’s just terrible.”

So if the bright lights of Vegas are out, what or where next for the popular Irishman?

Concrete jungle where dreams are made of

The next fight for the ‘Notorious’ one takes place in Madison Square Garden, New York City at next month’s historic UFC 205 (November 12).

After a long standing professional MMA ban in the state was revoked earlier this year, McGregor finds himself as the headline act in the company’s first ever event in the famous City as he challenges Eddie Alvarez for the UFC Lightweight Championship as the favourite.

With Vegas now off the cards, Paddy Power is offering on New York to be the venue for McGregor’s next five contests from October 1 this year.

It’s also an chance for the Irishman not to fight in Las Vegas again before he retires and punters will be pleased to know that McGregor finally announcing a bout at Dublin’s Croke Park before the end of 2018 is ODDS ON at .

However, he is ‘Notorious’ (see what we did there) for pulling peoples legs, so our traders make it for him to be hunting another fighting jackpot in Vegas before the close of 2017.

He does also often proclaim to run whatever town he’s in, so customers fancying McGregor to be Governor of Nevada by 2024 can get that at .

Hell if Arnie can do it, why can’t a former plumber from Crumlin?
