Oh Nicky you're so fine...
Eurovision Song Contest 2016, Saturday May 14
Former Westlife star Nicky Byrne is hoping his song ‘Sunlight’ will bring Eurovision glory back home for the first time in 20 years, but the women of Ireland and the UK seem happy to ditch the Dublin heartthrob. Despite being a runner-up in Ireland’s Sexiest Man 2014, Nicky’s good looks aren’t enough to win the support of the ladies – with all eyes on Russian dreamboat Sergey Lazarev.
Paddy Power have analysed all the bets taken from their female punters on this year’s song contest, and the majority of them are backing the Russian favourite with his tune ‘You Are The One and Only’. And we can see why…

Nicky is the second-most popular act for the ladies to back, and Ireland’s 1992 winner Linda Martin is quoted as saying that ‘hot young thing’ Nicky could be ‘the dark horse’ of the competition. Female punters are clearly in agreement.
The third most backed act by women is Swedish teen Fran. The 17-year-old chart-topper has had plenty of success in the music business after reaching number 1 in Sweden at the age of just seven with a song about footballer Zlatan Ibrahimovic – and a decade later he’s one of the more fancied Eurovision punts.
Unfortunately for Cyprus’ Minus One, Paddy’s female contingent are struggling to get behind the alternative rock band. They are the least popular act among the female punters, picking up less than one per cent of the bets.

The official top five most popular acts among women punters are:
- Russia – Sergey Lazarev:
- Ireland – Nicky Byrne:
- Sweden – Frans:
- France – Amir:
- UK – Joe and Jake:
