With Dave Chisnall and Michael Smith being relegated last week in Cardiff, the Premier League of Darts drops back down to 8 players. What that means is that we’ll see players pulling double duty a lot. In Week Ten, it’s James Wade and Phil Taylor
James Wade vs Raymond Van Barneveld – Bet NOW
Wade opens up against Van Barneveld defending an unbeaten league run that stretches back to the end of February (week 4). He tops the ton table for the league for the first 9 weeks and is just two points off second place.
Barney continued his good record against Michael Van Gerwen by holding the world number one to a 6-6 draw in Cardiff. He needs the two points though to keep his playoff hopes alive.
Wade beat Barney in Nottingham. I’m tipping the same thing to happen again. James Wade win at .
Paddy’s quickfire darts treble
Wade to beat Barney, Taylor to beat Wade and Lewis/Wright to draw – 17/1
Gary Anderson vs Phil Taylor – bet NOW

Yet again, Phil Taylor has proved all of his critics wrong. The Power is back. More importantly for him, he’s back on top of the table. When he gets in front of someone or something, he tends to hold onto it. A 103.19 tournament average, 7/9 weeks with a +100 average and just under 50% of a checkout rate. Not bad.
The World Champion however is out to revenge a defeat to the Stokie in Dublin and to get back on a winning streak. He was on a roll of six straight wins before blowing a lead against Wade last week to draw. He’s currently in the top 4, but a defeat will almost certainly see him drop out.
That’s what makes me believe that the Scot can get vengeance. Anderson win at
Robert Thornton vs Michael Van Gerwen – bet NOW
If I had to give a banker for this week it’d be Van Gerwen to obliterate Thornton. The Scotsman somehow survived judgement night despite only winning once all season and is now playing on for the last few weeks. He’s got no chance of a playoff spot, and no chance of repeating his feat from a couple of weeks ago by scraping a draw with MVG.
Van Gerwen will want to go back to the top of the league. And he’ll do it in style. Van Gerwen hat trick (most 180’s, highest checkout and win) at
Adrian Lewis vs Peter Wright – bet NOW
Lewis only has three defeats all season and they’ve come against MVG, Taylor and Anderson. Since dropping back to fourth in the world, he’s proved that he’s capable of firing back and leapfrogging Taylor again once the UK Open comes around in the summer.
Defeat here for Snakebite and he’ll have a bit of work to do to make the top four. He’s got the second highest number of 180’s (30 – only behind MVG) and is in the top 3 for checkout percentage. Whether he can keep that going for the final 5 weeks is questionable. But this is too close to split. Draw at
Phil Taylor vs James Wade – bet NOW
This one is harder to call because we won’t know what the form is like. Based on the earlier stats though, I’m leaning towards the Power at odds of.
