One week until Judgement Night
But it won't be required for one of the players after Thursday night
The city of Liverpool doesn’t really know much about relegation. After all, the two main football clubs have never been relegated. It instead knows a lot more about winning losing titles because of one slip. Robert Thornton pulls double duty on Thursday night and he needs to win both of his matches in order to keep his slim hope of survival alive. We’re not joking when we say Aston Villa have a better chance of survival than him. We’ve brewed up a 7/1 treble for the Scousers to sink their teeth into.
Michael Smith vs Robert Thornton – BET NOW
The Thorn starts the night against the other player in the relegation zone in Michael Smith. He did have the higher average against James Wade last week but still fell to his sixth defeat of the campaign. Despite that, his overall tournament average is still the lowest of the lot (86.35). Smith is under pressure as well, because of the game directly following this one, he could also be left two points off with just two more points available. Thornton’s only won two legs against the throw from 60. Smith can take advantage of that. Smith win at
Paddy’s quickfire treble
Michael Smith, Gary Anderson and Raymond Van Barneveld all to win – 7/1
Gary Anderson vs Dave Chisnall – BET NOW

The World Champion finally got his season out of first gear last week when winning both of his matches comfortably in his home country. He knows that a victory over Dave Chisnall will put him in a good position for the playoff places. These two had probably the best game of last years Premier League in the semi fianl, with the Scot winning a last leg shootout.
Chizzy hasn’t managed to show that quality throughout this years league stage though, and he’s only two points clear of Smith and Thornton. A victory here (coupled with his leg difference) will effectively relegate the loser of the first game. But he’s not going to get it against a hot firing Anderson. Anderson win at
Adrian Lewis vs Raymond Van Barneveld – BET NOW
Two players who aren’t in trouble in terms of relegation, and are comfortably in with a shout of the playoffs. Usually when that’s the case, we get an open and fast game of arrers. Barney’s struck the second highest number of 100+ scores (203 – James Wade has 222) but Lewis has won six of the last seven meetings including the World Championship semi final earlier this year.
The Dutchman tops the Premier League head to head between the two with 11 wins to 4 and two draws. Back Barney to make that record better and win at
Phil Taylor vs Peter Wright – BET NOW
Paddy Power are giving you your money back as a free bet if any Premier League match ends in a draw and it’s just as well because I can’t split Phil Taylor and Peter Wright. Taylor’s back in the top three of the world after a solid performance on the Pro Tour in 2016 while Wright’s tournament average is 101.01.
Taylor is on top the league thanks to his comeback draw against MVG last week but Wright is unbeaten against the Power in the Premier League (W2 D1) and has only lost four times against him over the best of 12 legs format out of 15 matches. Draw at
Michael Van Gerwen vs Robert Thornton – BET NOW
This one is going to be uglier than a Marouanne Fellaini victim.
Michael Van Gerwen has won 9 of the last 10 meetings. Robert Thornton hasn’t beaten MVG over this format for three years.
Michael Van Gerwen is top of the league, averaging 111.69 and has the highest checkout rate of 52.33%.
Robert Thornton is bottom of the league, averaging 86 and has a checkout rate of 39%.
Michael Van Gerwen will win seven legs. Robert Thornton will not. MVG 7-0 at
