I don’t know whether to cry or be happy but Love Island’s fifth season launches tonight and we’ve been busy (football’s over – yawn) pricing up what we believe will happen in the opening episode, who we believe will be first evicted and who’s in with a chance of winning.
We reckon Lucie Donlan is the most likely contestant to be in the winning couple (2/1) with Tyson Fury’s brother Tommy just behind at 7/2. Amber Gill, who claims she turned down the chance to appear on last year’s edition of the show (we believe you Amber), is second favourite of the girls to win at 7/2, while Joe Garratt comes next at 4/1. So, what’s going to go down in the launch episode we hear you say? Well, listen up: over two girls to step forward for Tommy is 6/4, any contestant to have everyone step forward for them is 4/1 and even a return for Megan Barton-Hanson at 25/1.

Curtis Pritchard and Tommy Fury are also both rated odds-on at 1/3 to mention their famous brothers within 10 minutes of entering the villa. In terms of coupling up, it’s rated 13/8 that favourites Tommy and Lucie pick each other, and the same price that Michael Griffiths and Amber Rose Gill are a match. Scientist Yewande Biala is the most likely girl to be evicted first (7/4) followed by Anna Vakili (2/1) while Sherif Lanre (6/4) and Michael Griffiths (7/2) are most likely of the boys.
Look, while it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, at least it means we have something to do on a weeknight now. So I’m told.
