This fourth round tie sees Ostapenko face the name known in households across the tennis world, Coco Gauff. Whilst merits can be awarded for the 2017 French Open Champion Ostapenko, Gauff comes into this having not dropped a set so far at this tournament. There were moments in her third round match with Bernarda Pera where Gauff took more points to close sets than we’d usually like to see, we are getting deeper into the tournament here and Gauff in straight sets is the pick for me.

Barbora Krejcikova is currently ranked world number 23 and has yet to drop a set in this tournament. She has well and truly found her singles form since returning from an elbow injury that hampered a large part of her 2022 campaign. However, she faces a consistent and technically gifted opponent in Jessica Pegula who came to the Australian Open as a career high 3rd in the WTA world rankings. Pegula is unbeaten in 7 matches and was in sensational form against Kostyuk recently. Whilst I can see this match going to 3 sets, I cannot see Pegula not reigning victorious in what should be a fantastic game of tennis.
