Tennis Tips: Our 10/1 Wimbledon Day 4 acca featuring Boulter and Norrie in all-British ties

Day Four of Wimbledon is here and our tipster Ben Smith has served up a juicy Acca.

13:00 – Katie Boulter v Harriet Dart – Over 21 Games

Harriet Dart made light work of her first-round opponent, Zhuoxuan Bai, while Katie Boulter had more difficulty with the awkward, unorthodox German, Tatjana Maria.

It was impressive how Boulter worked Maria out and found the answers to her constant slicing off both the forehand and backhand sides. The British number one is the rightful favourite against her compatriot, but she may have to dig deep to see her off.

Boulter defeated Dart in her Rothesay Open title wins in 2023 and 2024. The match two years ago saw 21 games played, and the meeting two weeks ago went on for 35 games before Boulter eventually edged it.

There are murmurs of needles between the pair, so neither will lie down if they fall behind. Both will embrace the No. 1 Court billing as the first of two all-British affairs.

15:00 – Jack Draper v Cameron Norrie – Jack Draper -1.5 set handicap

Cameron Norrie has not won a match as an underdog since the Australian Open in January and has failed to win consecutive matches since April. The 2022 semi-finalist at the All England Club must overcome both unwanted records to progress to the third round.

That is a big ask against Jack Draper, who survived Tuesday’s scare against Elias Ymer on Centre Court. It wasn’t the most convincing triumph but part of that can be put down to the pressure of being Great Britain’s best hope of a winner in the men’s singles this year.

Ymer also played very well in the two sets he took from Draper. He hit 30 winners against 11 unforced errors across both, so Draper should take mostly positives from the win over the Swede who had nothing to lose.

Draper’s serve has been more effective than Norrie’s during the grass-court swing, and he can make that count against the struggling world number 44.

16:30 – Caroline Wozniacki v Leylah Fernandez – Leylah Fernandez to win

Former world number one Caroline Wozniacki has never made it past the fourth round at Wimbledon, but she got her campaign off to the ideal start by taking out Alycia Parks.

However, a much sterner test is yet to come on Thursday as she faces in-form Leylah Fernandez. Having made the final in Eastbourne last week, the Canadian carried on where she left off as she defeated Lucia Bronzetti to reach round two at Wimbledon for the second year on the bounce.

Fernandez has the edge over Wozniacki in the most important statistical departments on grass since the Dane returned to tennis, and she can follow in the footsteps of fellow 2021 US Open finalist Emma Raducanu by securing a third-round berth.

17:00 – Elena Rybakina v Laura Siegemund – Elena Rybakina -6.5 game handicap

It took Elena Rybakina a couple of games to settle down against Elena-Gabriela Ruse in round one, but once she found her rhythm, there was no stopping the 2022 Wimbledon champion.

Winning 22 of 24 points behind her first serve, the Kazakhstani player quashed any concerns over her fitness after she withdrew from the Berlin Ladies Open two weeks ago with abdominal pain.

A healthy Rybakina could be ominous for the women’s draw and is certainly a daunting task for Laura Siegemund. The German’s victory over Kateryna Baindl on Tuesday was her first success on grass since the second round of last year’s Wimbledon qualifying.

Staying within 6.5 games of the grass specialist is too tall an order for the 36-year-old.
