The clay courts of Paris are calling as the French Open serves up the second Grand Slam of the tennis season.

Rafael Nadal crushed Casper Ruud in the final of last year’s men’s singles to claim the 22nd major title of his career – and his 14th at Roland Garros – but the Spaniard is not back to defend his crown due to a hip injury.

The women’s singles, meanwhile, went to Iga Swiatek – her second French Open crown – which came amid an incredible 37-match winning streak, the longest in the 21st century.

The French Open takes place over a two-week period between Sunday, May 28 and Sunday, June 11.

The morning sessions start at 10am before plays gets underway on the main court – Philippe Chatrier – an hour later until the semi-finals stage. There are also evening sessions from Monday, May 29 until Wednesday, June 7 starting at 7:30pm. The semi-finals and finals are scheduled to begin at 2pm.

Carlos Alcaraz is the favourite with Paddy Power to win the men’s singles as the world number one seeks the second Grand Slam of his fledgeling career.

Novak Djokovic is also prominent in our betting with the 36-year-old Serbian looking to claim a record 23rd Grand Slam title, although this has historically been his weakest of the four tournaments.

Iga Swiatek is the favourite with Paddy Power to win the women’s singles as last year’s champion bids to defend her title.
