And then there were four. The ladies’ section of Wimbledon 2022 is down to our final quartet of players and the final three games with Thursday’s semi finals set to throw up plenty more drama.

WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

It’s Ons Jabeur v Tatjana Maria and Elena Rybakina v Simona Halep in the last four to sort out who’s going for glory in Saturday’s final. Maria is the only unseeded player left while the Halep steamroller keeps motoring along after another straight-sets win.

I’ll unearth a best bet for each match and offer up the price on an ace double for your consideration. Let’s take a look at the form, the markets and the value to see if we can fire in some winners.

Ons Jabeur v Tatjana Maria – Over 19.5 Games

Third seed Ons Jabeur will be fired up and ready to seal her spot in the final against the unseeded German Tatjana Maria. Jabeur dropped her first set of the competition 3-6 in the quarters before rallying to hammer Marie Bouzkova 6-1, 6-1 in the second and third.

Maria, on the other hand, has had just one 2-0 victory and will surely be starting to feel it with a number of her sets in Wimbledon 2022 going to tie breaks. Jabeur is the massive favourite and the suspicion is that Maria will do well to land any kind of blow here.

Because the Tunisian favourite is around double-figures on to win value is at a real premium so we’ll have to take a little bit of a chance. It’s entirely possible that Jabeur flattens Maria but, given the battling qualities she’s shown to get to this stage, we’ll back the German to put up another good fight and for there to be Over 19.5 Games in the match.

Elena Rybakina v Simona Halep – Halep to Win 2-0

Simona Halep’s imperious run through Wimbledon continued in the quarters with the pretty straightforward 6-2, 6-4 win over the No.20 seed Amanda Anisimova. Elena Rybakina started slowly against the unseeded Ajla Tomljanovic before triumphing 4-6, 6-2, 6-3.

Halep still hasn’t dropped a set, needing just one tie break in her five rounds to get to this stage and looks absolutely unstoppable at the moment. Rybakina has dropped just one herself, that one in the last round.

The thing is, Rybakina has made it to the semis without playing a single seeded player while the Romanian has swept aside the 4th and 20th in the last two rounds. I think Paddy’s fav will be a class above and I’ll take Halep to Win 2-0 again.
