She stunned the world by winning the US Open last summer and Emma Raducanu is now chasing a second Slam on home soil at Wimbledon 2022.
The teenager’s triumph in the Big Apple came weeks after an eventful debut at SW19 in which she reached the fourth round as a wildcard before retiring against Ajla Tomljanovic due to breathing difficulties.
While it’s not been plain sailing for Raducanu since her shock success at the US Open, she sits 11th in the world rankings and finds herself towards the top end of Paddy Power’s Wimbledon Women’s Tournament Winner betting market.
Raducanu successfully kicked off her campaign on Monday with a straight-sets victory over world number 46 Alison Van Uytvanck… but who does she play next?
The 19-year-old meets world number 55 Caroline Garcia in the second round of Wimbledon 2022 and the match follows Novak Djokovic v Thanasi Kokkinakis on Centre Court. The opening clash on the showpiece court is scheduled to start at 1.30pm so she is likely to be in action from around 3.30pm.
Garcia, who won the Bad Homburg Open last week, saw off Yuriko Miyazaki in three sets out on Court 17 in the first round on Monday.
