Novak Djokovic is back to defend his Wimbledon crown as he bids to become the king of SW19 for the seventh time in his career.

The superstar Serbian is the favourite in Paddy Power’s Wimbledon Men’s Tournament Winner betting market, despite failing to get his hands on any Grand Slam silverware in this calendar year.

He missed out on the Australian Open due to a row over his coronavirus vaccination status before being dumped out of the French Open in the quarter-finals by old foe Rafael Nadal.

Wimbledon has been a home from home for Djokovic in recent times, however, as he’s won the last three editions.

Who is likely to stand in his way this year? We’ve taken a look at his projected route to the Wimbledon 2022 final.

Djokovic is in the top half of the draw and opens his campaign against world number 75 Soonwoo Kwon before a likely second-round match against world number 82 Thanasi Kokkinakis.

His first real test of the tournament is tipped to come against 25th seed Miomir Kecmanovic in round three before a potential fourth-round meeting against the big-serving Reilly Opelka, who is without a win on grass so far this summer.

A tasty quarter-final clash against Carlos Alcaraz, the most exciting prospect in the game, would provide a real test of his mettle while Polish ace Hubert Hurkacz is a likely semi-final opponent.

Long-term rival Nadal, who is halfway to a clean sweep of the year’s Grand Slams, is in the bottom half of the draw so the two titans could duel it out in the final.
