Australian Open Tennis Tips: Bye-bye Bedene in this 7/1 trader treble

As any good insomniac knows, the Aussie open is in full swing. Here's our traders' take on tonight's matches

MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA - JANUARY 21: James Duckworth of Australia plays a forehand during his Men's Singles first round match against Aljaz Bedene of Slovenia on day two of the 2020 Australian Open at Melbourne Park on January 21, 2020 in Melbourne, Australia. (Photo by Mike Owen/Getty Images)

A Bedene v E Gulbis – Gulbis to win @ 11/8

Wednesday night, 12.00am

Gulbis has to be one of the most volatile players on tour. He had to come through the qualifiers for this and then caused a shock upset in the first round beating in-form young gun Canadian Auger-Aliassime 3-1.

Aljaz Bedene struggled in his first-round match when he had to come back from a 2-1 set deficit to win in five sets. I think the Latvian is good value for a win at 11/8 in this match-up.

D Collins v Y Putintseva – Set Betting 2-0 Collins @ 13/10

Wednesday night, 12.00am

Collins is one of the only top women players actually in good form coming into the year’s first Grand Slam event. This pair played two weeks ago and the 26-year-old American won 6-1 6-0.

It doesn’t get much more comprehensive than that, and the odds on her to repeat a two-set victory here look generous at 13/10 given the recent meeting.

D Schwartzman v A Davidovich Fokina – Set Betting 3-0 Schwartzman 10/11

Wednesday night, 3.00am

The little pocket rocket Schwartzenegger is playing some of the best tennis of his career. He did even break into a sweat in his opening round match against South Africa’s’ Lloyd Harris, while the young Spaniard Davidovich Fokina had to dig deep to muster up a 3-2 win against the 113th-ranked player in the world, Norbert Gombos,

I struggle to see him winning a set here and would take the 10/11 available on a straight-sets triumph for the Argentine in this.

A treble on these three bets pays out at 7/1 on PaddyPower.com
