US Open Tips: This 33/1 treble could pull a few strings at Flushing Meadows

Fed looks a shoo-in but is Serena past her best? Our traders think so.

R Federer v D Evans: Total Sets Under 3.5 @ 1/1

A few wobbles for Federer so far losing the opening set in both of his first two matches but Evans will be no match for the 20-time grand slam winner. Evans says he has “more belief” this time that he can beat Federer and says he got over the whole ‘Roger is God, he’s impossible to beat’ mental barrier. Well, that’s great Dan but we still think Federer is taking this 3-0.

S Williams v K Muchova: Muchova to Win @ 7/2

Nearly 38 years of age, Serena is past her best and dropped a set against young Caty McNally in the last round. Muchova, on the other hand, is on the converse trajectory, beginning the year at no.144 and her form this year has seen her climb 100 places to no. 44. She has a big serve and hits hard so won’t struggle with Serena’s power. I wouldn’t be surprised if Williams lost today and the odds for Muchova are worth taking.

G Dimitrov v K Majchrzak: Majchrzak to Win @ 3/1

Where has it gone wrong for mini Fed? Dimitrov has been in decline over the past couple of years and can lose to just about anybody these days. At one stage he sat no. 3 in the world and now has cliff dived to no. 78. An upset could be on the cards here against Polish qualifier Majchrzak, who will take confidence from overcoming the odds against Pablo Cuevas.
