Matteo Berrettini to Win @ 5/4
There’s a game of youth versus experience lined up early in Flushing Meadows on Tuesday when Matteo Berrettini meets Richard Gasquet. The 23-year-old Italian has quietly had a good season, picking up three titles in the last 12 months and making his first slam quarter-final appearance in Wimbledon this July. Berrretini has won six of his last seven games priced as an underdog and seven of eight first-round games played. Over three or more sets in the New York heat, we’re taking youth here.

NEW YORK, NEW YORK – AUGUST 26: Marcos Giron of United States returns a shot during his men’s singles first round match against Yoshihito Nishioka of Japan during day one of the 2019 US Open at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center on August 26, 2019 in the Flushing neighborhood of the Queens borough of New York City. Andrey Rublev to Win @ 7/4
Stefanos Tsitsipas against Andrey Rublev is a clash of two future tennis stars, both only 21 years old, both having what might be considered their breakout seasons. After two recent first-round losses Tsitsipas will be looking to bounce back, while Rublev is in fine form, knocking off Roger Federer in straight sets in the recent Cincinnati Masters event before going on to lose to eventual champion Daniil Medvedev. With the series tied at 1-1 we’re taking form. Advantage Rublev.

NEW YORK, NEW YORK – AUGUST 26: Cameron Norrie of Great Britain returns a shot during his men’s singles first round match against Gregoire Barrere of France during day one of the 2019 US Open at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center on August 26, 2019 in the Flushing neighborhood of the Queens borough of New York City. Denis Shapovalov to Win @ 5/6
Tuesday’s tennis witnesses a 2018 first-round rematch between two young Canadians. Auger-Aliassime was the victor on the previous occasion following a third set retirement from Shapovalov. After a nice run of form in recent tournaments including a semi-final appearance in last week’s ATP Winston-Salem Shapovalov feels good value at 5/6 to take the spoils this time round.
