Tips from the trading floor: Their 9/2 treble for Day 1 at the US Open

Our number crunchers have slammed into the men’s draw!

Fabio Fognini v Reilly Opelka: Opelka to win – 8/11

This is the first meeting between these two talented operators. Typically, you would go with Fognini here, however the fiery Italian has been struggling with an ankle injury as of late.

Opelka has huge serve, home support and some good wins against top players in his past few tournaments. Take the American to keep the New York crowd happy here.

Philipp Kohlschreiber v Lucas Pouille: Pouille win first set and win the match – Evens

Lucas Pouille had a good run in Cincinnati beating Karen Khachanov along the way to a quarter-final. The Frenchman also has a positive head to head against Philipp Kohlschreiber 2-1, so the signs are good.

This match is unlikely to be a straightforward affair, but each of Pouille’s wins against Kohlschreiber have gone the distance with him winning the first set and we fancy a repeat here.

Andreas Seppi v Grigor Dimitrov: Dimitrov (-1.5) sets – 8/11

This is another first meeting on our bet slip and it’s potentially a tough matchup for Dimitrov as he struggles to find consistency in recent times.

Neither of these two are expected to go deep in the tournament, but let’s try to make some money while they are still here. Baby Fed should get in the win here in three or four sets.
