French Open: A Magnifique 8/1 treble from the Traders for Saturday’s action

We just can't buy into Cat Woman, sorry (ahem), Serena we mean.....

J Gorges v S Williams – Back J Gorges to win @ 6/5

We can’t buy into the Serena hype train just yet. Even though she rallied well to overcome Ashleigh Barty on Thursday we still think it’s a bit early for Cat Women, sorry we mean Serena. These two haven’t met in seven years and even though Gorges’ form has dipped a bit of late we see her persevering through this encounter. It’s time for the German to step up on the big stage and what better way to announce she has arrived than beating arguably the greatest ladies player of all time.

Gorges to win this match at 6/5 seems to be the value bet here.

A Kerber v K Bertens – Back A Kerber @ 6/5

All the talk is about Kiki Bertens at the moment who deserves a lot of the praise as she is playing excellent tennis. But the former world no.1 Kerber is no slouch herself and if this match was played five or six weeks ago the prices would be a lot different with Kerber surely a decent favourite. Kerber has eased past her first two opponents and we think the experienced German will have too much for Bertens this time around. Kerber to win the match at 6/5 has great value.

F Fognini v K Edmund – Back F Fognini @9/10

Credit where credit’s due, Edmund has been playing lovely tennis of late, but if both players are at their best and meet on clay, the Fog wins every time. We’ve have had a torrid time pricing this match as the line is constantly moving; Edmund favourite one hour then Fognini the next. It has finally come to rest and we have Fognini slight favourite at 9/10.

When he plays well he is a joy to watch on clay but his fragile temperament is his downfall a lot of the time. We are willing to take a chance on the flamboyant Italian this time round and can see him schooling this British/South African hybrid on Saturday.
