A deadly double from our traders on Thursday’s tennis from Monte Carlo

Ahead of Thursday's action in Monaco, our number-crunchers have come up with a nice double...

Bautista Agut v Goffin: Over 2.5 sets – 5/4

Both of these players are solid campaigners – not quite good enough to challenge the elite but good enough to beat everyone else.

As a punter there’s nothing better than a tennis player who knows his place in the middle of the tennis hierarchy.

Goffin is the better player of the pair but the Belgian is not on the best of form and we should see a close one here, making the Over 2.5 sets market good value at 5/4.

A Zverev v J-L Struff: Zverev 2-0 – 8/11

Zverev is the better player.

He’s 3-0 in head-to-heads between the two and has only dropped one set on clay. Add in the fact that he’s also on an upturn from his bad start to the year, and the grand slam yips that he is accustomed to don’t come into account here.

After a final in Miami and a good result over David Ferrer on the red stuff in the Davis Cup, an on-form Zverev should see a comprehensive victory here, so we’re backing him to take it 2-0.
