Alex De Minaur v Feliciano López: De Minaur to win – 11/10

We have been hugely impressed by the 18-year-old Alex De Minaur of late. He burst onto the scene last week beating Steve Johnson and Milos Raonic on his way to the Brisbane Semis.

De Minaur has followed that up with convincing wins over Fernando Verdasco and Damir Džumhur in Sydney and seems to be really enjoying his tennis at the minute. Standing in his way later is wily Spaniard Feliciano López (a favourite of Judy Murray), who reeled back the years to beat one of the tournament big guns Diego Schwartzman earlier today.

We’re sticking with the Aussie De Minaur in this one as he looks to be cracking value at 11/10.

Aryna Sabalenka v Lesia Tsurenko: Sabalenka to win – 10/11

We successfully tipped up Aryna Sabalenka to win early this morning as she duly dispatched the challenge of Zhang Shuai in straight sets. It seems only fair to stick with her in this next match against Lesia Tsurenko.

Sabalenka is in superb form at the minute, winning nine of her last 10 and that confidence should see her overcome the battling Ukrainian Tsurenko. These two have never played in the past, but we expect a close encounter here none the less.

Sabalenka to shade this one at 10/11 is the smart gamble here.

Barbora Strýcová v Ashleigh Barty: Barty to win 2-1 in sets – 16/5

This is an intriguing matchup and should go down to the wire. Strýcová is in good form having won WTA Linz near the end of last year and has continued her winning ways into the Aussie swing at the start of 2018.

She strolled past a difficult opponent in Ekaterina Makarova yesterday and should be relishing this challenge with Barty. However, we are siding with the Australian in this contest.

She loves a home crowd and is surely their best chance of winning the looming Australian Open.

Expect this to be a tit-for-tat match with 21-year-old Barty coming through in the end. Back her to win 2-1 in sets at 16/5, while she’s 4/5 to win the match if you prefer the safer option.
