Cilic–Federer over 3.5 sets: 5/6
Federer, again, was so close to losing at least one set against Berdych, but it just didn’t materialise. Cilic looked very good in his match with Querrey and, although he made a small mess of it he again didn’t expend too much energy in that match.
A lot of people will remember last year’s matchup where Federer was forced into repeatedly saving match points and then miraculously escaped with a 5 set victory. Federer won’t have it easy here and Cilic’s price has a lot of value in what’s expected to be a very tight match.
Muguruza to beat Venus: 4/5
These two will rightfully receive praise for their performances so far, as they’re both very deserving finalists. But there’s a lot of hype over Venus’ win against Konta, mainly because everyone expected Konta to win (not us!) as she fostered a very supportive atmosphere throughout the tournament.
However, despite very little separating them, Muguruza is simply better player at the moment and has more tools in her game to counter Venus’s powerful attacking game. Muguruza by a whisker.
