Croatia – Artist: Baby Lasagna / Song: Rim Tim Tagi Dim

  • Paddy’s Eurovision Rating 4 / Predicted Points Total – 470

VERDICT: Dated rock, but their audience interaction is impressive and have been given a prime slot. Needs a huge televote to win.

Switzerland – Artist: Nemo / S0ng: The Code

  • Paddy’s Eurovision Rating 4 / Estimated Points Total – 420

VERDICT: Bad rap, beautiful opera, average pop, all combine well but the staging is a touch cold.

France – Artist: Slimane / Song: Mon Amour

  • Paddy’s Eurovision Rating 3 / Estimated Points Total – 385

VERDICT: Tries far too hard to show how good a singer he is. Likely jury vote winner but won’t do as well with televote.

Ukraine – Artist: Alyona Alyona and Jerry Heil / Song: Teresa & Maria

  • Paddy’s Eurovision Rating 5 / Estimated Points Total – 380

VERDICT: Atmospheric, superb vocals, but has been handed the worst possible draw.

Israel – Artist: Eden Golan / Song: Hurricane

  • Paddy’s Eurovision Rating 1 / Estimated Points Total – 350

VERDICT: Result will depend on the televote as song is average.

Ireland – Artist: Bambie Thug / Song: Doomsday Blue

VERDICT: Dark, witchcraft, superb stage performance; one of the best ever at Eurovision. Crown the witch!

Italy – Artist: Angelina Mango / Song: La Noia

  • Paddy’s Eurovision Rating 4 / Estimated Points Total – 330

VERDICT: Catchy, contemporary, perfect vocals. Staging leaves a little to be desired and rivals have better running order slots.

Netherlands – Artist: Joost Klein / Song: Europapa

  • Paddy’s Eurovision Rating 3 / Estimated Points Total – 2000

VERDICT: 2 Unlimited and Scooter vibes on this one. Trying to be quirky and funny but lacks overall quality.

Georgia – Artist: Nutsa Buzaladze / Song: Firefighter

  • Paddy’s Eurovision Rating 3 / Estimated Points Total – 190

Sweden – Artist: Marcus & Martinus / Song: Unforgettable

  • Paddy’s Eurovision Rating 4 / Estimated Points Total – 160

VERDICT: Michael Jackson crossed with The Weekend sung by two robot pop gremlins. It’s good.

Estonia – Artist: 5miinust and Puuluup / Song: (Nendest) narkootikumidest ei tea me (küll) midagi

  • Paddy’s Eurovision Rating 3 / Estimated Points Total – 110

Lithuania – Artist: Silvester Belt / Song: Luktelk

VERDICT: Bass heavy dance track. Bonus for being sung in Lithuanian. Crowd pleaser.

Armenia – Artist: Ladaniva / Song: Jako

VERDICT: Irritating ethno-folk track. Essentially a children’s song.

Austria – Artist: Kaleen / Song: We Will Rave

VERDICT: A dated gym song. Shaky vocals. Up tempo nature makes it a good show closer.

UK – Artist: Olly Alexander/ Song: Dizzy

  • Paddy’s Eurovision Rating 2 / Estimated Points Total – 60

VERDICT: Famous performer won’t rescue a mess of a stage show, poor vocals and a weak song.

Serbia – Artist: Teya Dora / Song: Ramonda

VERDICT: Extraordinarily dull ballad. Cup of tea time.

Latvia – Artist: Dons / Song: Hollow

  • Paddy’s Eurovision Rating 2 / Estimated Points Total – 40

VERDICT: Extraordinarily dated male ballad. Good vocals but no chance.

Cyprus – Artist: Silia Kapsis / Song: Liar

  • Paddy’s Eurovision Rating 1 / Estimated Points Total – 30

VERDICT: Woeful cliché up tempo banger. Bottom 5.

Germany – Artist: Isaak / Song: Always On

  • Paddy’s Eurovision Rating 2 / Estimated Points Total – 30

VERDICT: Rag n’ Bone style shouty man. Good singer, awful song.

Luxembourg – Artist: Tali / Song: Fighter

  • Paddy’s Eurovision Rating 1 / Estimated Points Total – 20

VERDICT: Up tempo pop, seamlessly moves between French and English but not competitive. Last place?

Eurovision tips

STEPHEN CASS: The battle for Eurovision supremacy is likely to be a straight shootout between Croatia and Israel.

While Croatia might only get to 4th or 5th in the jury vote, a direct race with Israel could help their televote, and I’m tipping them to win the televote ahead of the big excitement of the head-to-head overall final.

Ireland were incredible in the semi finals, but I don’t think they will win enough jury points to sneak a top five finish, so I’m going with Georgia for a high finish.
