The latest Eurovision odds are on PaddyPower.com nowIreland arrives at the grand final of Eurovision on Saturday nights as fifth favourite and a joker in the pack. Bambie Thug’s incredible stage show has dazzled through rehearsals and semi-finals and has gained serious momentum. But can it win? My gut feeling all along is Ireland could do very well with the televote but juries won’t mark it high enough to contend for a Top 4 finish. I predict Ireland will finish 6th or 7th and that’s a terrific result. Huge credit goes to Bambie and their team.
Croatia Televote Winner
The market is now dominated by Croatia and Israel. While Croatia might only limp to 4th or 5th in the jury vote, them being pitted against Israel in a head-to-head for the win might just help their televote enough to get them over the line as outright winners.
This aspect will probably also see a few extra jury points slink their way. Croatia have been handed the best possible draw in act 22 of the 26. The way I want to play it is backing Croatia to Win the Televote at as this is basically a straight shootout with Israel.
Georgia Top 10 Finish
Georgia Top 5 Finish
Often a country can come from nowhere at a massive price to nick a place at Eurovision. Italy have a quality act, a decent draw, and a history of scoring well both sides of the board. But three places isn’t attractive enough to pull the trigger. One country that over-performed in their semi-final was Georgia. This is the only quality uptempo female-led banger in the whole contest and has a fabulous slot in the running order in stall 24 of 26. I am backing Georgia at 15-8 for a top 10 finish and a small stake at 25-1 for a top 5 might give us a good run for the money.
Estonia Top Baltic
The top Baltic market looks like a straight shootout between Lithuania and Estonia. There is no doubt Lithuania have a better song, but buried in slot seven they will struggle to stand out. Being after Israel it may well be forgotten. Estonia is a televote-friendly package that will get a huge reaction in the arena and this will be much closer than the market suggests.
Sweden to Finish Ahead of Greece
The good folk in the trading room at Paddy Power have priced up a few match bets and the one that caught my eye is Sweden to finish ahead of Greece. Sweden’s act is polished pop, sure of some jury points, whereas Greece is a complete hot mess. The Swedish twins are actually Norwegian, guaranteeing a few extra points there.
Luxembourg to Finish Last
Finally, everyone loves a last-place bet. Luxembourg scraped through by the skin of their teeth from Tuesday’s semi-final thanks to being handed the pimp slot in stall 15. Performing in box four in a stacked opening 10 songs in the grand final, they are really going to struggle to stand out. The song has little appeal with televoters or juries.
