Georgia to win semi-final 2
San Marino to qualify

Ireland’s Bambie Thug gave a tour de force in Tuesday’s semi-final. Dreaming of Dublin 2025 is not a total fantasy and us Irish Eurovision fans will find it hard to keep our feet on the ground over the next few days.
However taking off the green shamrock glasses for a minute, the Irish song will do well to score well enough with juries to contend for the overall win. A strong televote and our highest finish this century (Jedward finished 8th in 2011) looks like a realistic goal.
The latest Eurovision odds are on PaddyPower.com nowOnto Thursday’s semi-final and the books have it a straight shootout between televote catnip Netherlands and long-time outright contenders Switzerland. Both have damaged their chances of outright victory with poor staging in rehearsals.
The Dutch going for quirky makes it look tacky; while the Swiss staging feels slightly cold. Both songs feel a little like momentum is slipping away from them this week, and perhaps something could sneak in the side door for a semi-final win.
Georgia to win semi-final 2
I have had a small bet on Georgia to win this semi-final at big prices and Paddy’s carrot is still worth a crunch. Nutsa Buzaladze’s song is pretty basic up-tempo Eurovision fare, but she performs the absolute hell out of it.
With plenty of pyro, a dance break, and good vocals, this is reminiscent of Fuego and Slomo but maybe a little downgrade on song quality. However it’s very televote friendly and if a surprise is to happen, this is the one.
San Marino to qualify
I’m also having a small bet on San Marino to qualify. With unexpectedly clever staging and a good draw in box 10 of 16, San Marino have a better chance than the current odds of 3-1 suggest. Rock always does better than expected at Eurovision and Megara have managed to nail their rehearsals.
An act from another country often represents San Marino and Megara being Spanish will be a big help with Spain voting in this semi-final. Additionally, Georgia, Malta, Albania and Greece have given more points to San Marino than anyone else in the past 10 contests and all four will vote here. As do Italy, a long-time ally of San Marino. They look a shade too big.
