Hollywood A-lister Will Smith is moving to Bel-Air to live with his aunt and uncle at the behest of his mother, Paddy Power News understands.
Smith’s ‘mom’ insisted the Men in Black actor relocate to a residential neighbourhood on the Westside of Los Angeles after he got involved in an altercation with comedian Chris Rock at last night’s Oscars.
The 53-year-old West Philadelphia native will spend some time with his uncle Phil, aunt Vivian, their children Carlton, Ashley, Nicky and butler Geoffrey.
“I got in one little fight and my mom got scared,” Smith told PP News.
“She told me to leave Philly and go stay with my uncle Phil and aunt Viv in their crib in California.
“I took a cab, which in hindsight wasn’t the most cost effective method of transport.
“To compound matters the taxi driver’s personal hygiene was deplorable.”
Smith’s mother demanded he move to California after he slapped Chris Rock on live television over a joke he made about his wife’s hair.
The King Richard star cited God, love and a host of other lies to justify his actions while many observers claim it’s the worst thing Smith has done since Wild Wild West.
But despite causing the biggest scandal in the Academy Awards’ 94-year history, people were quick to voice their support for the rapper.
“Hey, Will! We loved your last hit,” tweeted one fan.
When quizzed on why he open-hand slapped the comedian, Smith replied: “Because paper beats Rock.”
Meanwhile, Jada Pinkett-Smith announced she’s taking a break from social media in the wake of last night’s events.
“Too many snakes on this thing,” she posted to Facebook. “Just gonna look after me, Will and the kids from now on.
“If anyone needs me just text me.”
