Suez container ship Ever Given set for explosive tell-all Oprah interview

He's got plenty to say

The container ship at the centre of the Suez Canal blockage is set for an explosive tell-all interview with Oprah, it has emerged.

The 400m Ever Given will lift the lid on what really happened during the week-long blockage in one of the world’s busiest trade routes.

Among the headline-making revelations, the 200,000-tonne ship will tell the talk show queen how it ran aground while attempting to dispel the myth it turned slower than Manchester United defender Harry Maguire.

The vessel is also expected to refute claims United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was at the wheel when the ship encountered difficulties during a sandstorm.

SUEZ, EGYPT – MARCH 29: The container ship ‘Ever Given’ enters Great Bitter Lake after it was refloated, unblocking the Suez Canal on March 29, 2021 in Suez, Egypt. This morning the container ship came partly unstuck from the shoreline, where it ran aground in the canal last Tuesday, and later resumed its course shortly after 3pm local time. The Suez Canal is one of the world’s busiest shipping lanes and the blockage had created a backlog of vessels at either end, raising concerns over the impact on global shipping and supply chains. A source close to the stranded container ship told Paddy Power News the Ever Given will not receive any money from the interview which is expected to rock the global shipping community to its core.

‘Givesy isn’t making a penny from this. He just wants people to know the truth’, said the source.

‘The allegations that he couldn’t turn as quickly as Harry Maguire were extremely hurtful’.

‘Givesy had to endure the taunts of ‘you turn like Slab Head’ from passing ships for months.

‘He tried to put those rumours to bed by performing a quick 3-point turn.

‘Unfortunately, high winds caused a sandstorm which reduced his visibility and he’s ran aground’.

‘This is Givesy’s chance to set the record straight and stick two funnels up to all the haters’.

Oprah joined her BFF, Gayle King, on CBS This Morning to discuss the interview.

‘The knock-on effect of this on global shipping will be devastating’, said the 67-year-old talk show host.

‘It will expose the bullying culture which exists within the shipping community and how comparisons with Slab Head can drive a seemingly mild-mannered container ship to attempt a 3-point turn in one of the world’s busiest trade routes’.

Several prominent vessels have posted messages of support on social media today in show of solidarity with the Ever Given.

‘Je suis Suez Canal Ship’, tweeted the QE2.
