Following the smash-hit success of Netflix documentary Tiger King, we have priced up who would be cast as the lead character in a spin-off movie. And they make three very different – but similarly unique – actors joint-favourites to land the role, with Kevin Bacon, Billy Bob Thornton, and Edward Newton each 4/1.
Brad Pitt (8/1) and Matthew McConaughey (10/1) would give the role some (arguably unnecessary) glamour, while Leonardo Di Caprio is 14/1 to add Joe Exotic to the list of offbeat characters he’s depicted.
Carole Baskin’s husband, Howard, is 500/1 to take on the role – but a far shorter 10/1 to make a cameo. Carole herself, meanwhile, is 20/1 to appear in the movie, after shunning Netflix’s reunion episode.

Joe Exotic was the protagonist we didn’t know we needed for lockdown times. Or, indeed, any time ever. But his madcap story has baffled and intrigued people across the globe, distracting them from breaking news reports and packets of biscuits with tales of tigers, murders, wacky country music, and redneck polygamy.
So a Hollywood movie is the obvious next step, and we think the industry’s biggest names will be queueing up for the title role.
