Coronation Street star Jack P Shepherd leads the market to be on the next series of Strictly Come Dancing. David Platt is the odds-on 8/15 favourite with us to swap the cobbles for the dancefloor, with several soap stars also in the running, including Eastenders’ Shona McGarty (3/1).
Made in Chelsea’s Jamie Laing is second most likely (4/6) to join the show after he missed out on the last edition due to injury. Also in the betting is Fearne Cotton (5/4), Sir Chris Hoy (2/1), Lorraine Kelly (3/1), while Kym Marsh, Louise Minchin and I’m A Celeb winner Jacqueline Jossa are priced at 4/1.
In the world of politics, former Lib Dem leader Jo Swinson a 16/1 shot, ahead of former speaker John Bercow at 20/1 and Nigel Farage at 33/1.
It’s always soap stars and presenters, isn’t it? Although the reality TV merry-go-round means Jacqueline Jossa, Jamie Laing and Harry Redknapp are all in the market, I have to say I’d much rather see John Bercow or Dion Dublin dancing up a storm.
And, may I add, I’m pretty slick on a dancefloor myself. Don’t even spill my pint.
