Dancing On Ice: Odds fall on Melody to win, with Strictly-style curse likely

Ice, ice baby...

Following last night’s episode of Dancing On Ice, we’ve slashed the odds of a Melody Thornton victory – and make a Strictly Come Dancing-style love curse to hit the show more likely than ever.

Our traders make Melody 6/1 to win the series, in from 10/1 before week two aired following her impressive first skate with Alexander Demetriou.

Elsewhere, Wes Nelson and Vanessa Bauer’s ‘chemistry’, paired with the pro dancer’s split from her boyfriend, has set tongues wagging that we may be in for a Strictly-style curse on ice.

And they make it more likely than ever at 3/1, halved from 6/1 last week, that a contestant is pictured locking lips with their dance partner. It’s also rated 10/1 that Wes splits with fellow Love Island star Megan Barton Hanson, in favour of re-coupling with his dance partner Vanessa.

Spokesman Paddy Power said: “Melody Thornton’s odds of winning Dancing On Ice have fallen quickly since the show, which is hardly surprising considering her professional dancing experience as an actual Pussycat Doll.

“And the likelihood of a curse striking the ice has shortened again, with bookies convinced that there could be some Seann Walsh and Katya Jones-style public smooching, and a few of the contestants opting to put their real life relationships on ice.”
