Rak-Su worry? X Factor winners just 2/1 to be dropped after first album

They're as far out as 5/1 to land Christmas number one...

X Factor 2017 winners Rak-Su are 5/1 to have the UK’s Christmas number one this year – but the group are rated at just 2/1 to be dropped by Simon Cowell after their first album.

We’re offering short odds for the boyband from Watford to follow the trend for the ITV show’s winners to be discarded at the end of their record contract.

Though, by that stage, there may be no more X Factor – it’s 3/1 that the talent show doesn’t return to ITV in 2018, after disappointing viewing figures this series.

Meanwhile, its 10/1 that all three X Factor finalists – including singer-songwriter Grace Davies and third-placed Kevin Davy White – land a UK number one next year.

We also quote 12/1 that runner-up Grace will provide the vocal for the 2018 John Lewis Christmas advert.

French musician Kevin Davy White, meanwhile, is 20/1 to represent the UK in next year’s Eurovision Song Contest.

Asked about the future for the X-Factor winners spokesman Paddy Power said: “Super likeable Rak-Su have cheesed their way to victory, with a series of inexplicably catchy songs that fit into the ‘say what you see’ mould of song-writing.

“We think they’re a decent bet for Christmas number one – but offer far shorter odds that they’re dropped by Simon Cowell at the end of their first record deal.

“Perhaps, then, they could consider a ready meal endorsement. Rak-Su curry has a certain ring to it.”
