
With a host of female stars in ‘revolt’ over the BBC’s pay gap, Paddy Power have installed Clare Balding as the favourite from the list to leave next at 2/1.
Other short-priced contenders include Today presenter Sarah Montague (4/1), and One Show stalwart Alex Jones (6/1) – both of whom, like Balding, are signatories of the call-to-action letter to Beeb director general Tony Hall.
We’ve have also priced up which of the best-paid stars will take a pay-cut next year – with Steve Wright (10/3), Graham Norton (4/1), Chris Evans (5/1), and Gary Lineker (9/1) all contenders.

However, the favourite in that market is Claudia Winkleman (2/1), the highest paid woman on the BBC’s pay list today.
Asked about the row spokesman Paddy Power said: “The BBC pay list has sent shockwaves through showbiz– who knew that Ian Beale was such a lucrative role?
“But, after the pay gap letter, it’s clear that many of the BBC’s best stars are reviewing their future.”
