(Doctor) Who’ll be cast as a female next? Bond favourite after BBC are time-lauded

Doctor Who is a woman – in case you missed it….

After the divisive appointment of Jodie Whittaker to the iconic role, Paddy Power have priced up which traditionally male character from a major franchise will next go to a female star.

James Bond is the favourite to undergo a sex change (2/1), ahead of Star Trek’s Captain Kirk (4/1) and boxing franchise Rocky (5/1).

We believe that despite the mixed reaction to the choice of Whittaker, she’s most likely to keep the role for three series (13/8) – offering 10/1 that she lasts just one.

Early favourites to succeed her are Kris Marshall and Michaela Coel (both 7/1).

Asked his thoughts on the appointment spokesman Paddy Power said: “Judging by the varied reaction to the Doctor Who news, some people clearly need a Tardis to get back to 2017.

“My tip is Star Wars. I can see Darth Vader saying ‘I am your mother’ now.”
