The World Snooker Championship returns for 2024 as the best players on the planet go head-to-head for the famous trophy and the hefty pay cheque that comes with it!
That’s right, a huge amount of cash will be awarded to the lucky champion and a fair few quid to those who get to the latter stages of the tournament as well.
Luca Brecel is the defending champion and he picked up a whopping half a million pounds after beating Mark Selby in last season’s final.
However, he will face tough competition this year in the form of seven-time world champion Ronnie O’Sullivan, who has already won the campaign’s first two triple crown events. ‘The Rocket’ is aiming to become the first player in history to win eight.
The event begins on Saturday, April 20 at the iconic Crucible Theatre in Sheffield and runs until Monday, May 6.
