The World Snooker Championship is back for 2024 and all eyes will be on the greatest of all time, Ronnie O’Sullivan, who’s aiming to win a record-breaking eighth title.

It’s safe to say that the Rocket transcends the sport of snooker with many flocking to the tour’s major events just to get a glimpse of the man strutting his stuff around the table.

In a career spanning over three decades, O’Sullivan has won the lot. He holds the record for the most ranking titles with 41, including eight UK Championships, eight Masters titles and seven world titles.

What else can he achieve? Well, this year he’s vying to win number eight in the World Snooker Championship, something which nobody has ever done before in the modern era.

If he wins, he will also join another elite list by becoming just the fourth person to win all three triple-crown events in a single season.

You can find all the World Snooker Championship odds on the Paddy Power website and Paddy Power app, and ahead of the tournament, we’ve taken a detailed look at O’Sullivan’s record over the year at the Crucible Theatre.

Ronnie’s last triumph in Sheffield came back in 2022 when he beat Judd Trump 18-13 in an exciting final.

It took nine years from his first appearance at the tournament for him to finally win for the first time in 2001. His most successful spell came between 2012 and 2014 where he reached the final three times in a row and won the tournament back-to-back.

As for maximums, O’Sullivan has made three 147 breaks at the Crucible, a number which can only be matched by fellow seven-time winner Stephen Hendry.
