The world’s best snooker players are chalking their cues in preparation for one of the most prestigious tournaments in the game.

The first of the Triple Crown events, this year’s UK Championship features a whole host of familiar faces including seven-time winner Ronnie O’Sullivan, Judd Trump and Neil Robertson.

Mark Allen landed last season’s top prize after beating Ding Junhui in the final, but the latter got revenge on the opening day of this year’s tournament as the Irishman’s title defence fell at the first hurdle.

The UK Championship is scheduled to start on Saturday, November 25 and conclude with the final on Sunday, December 3.
