Watch: Argy-bargy at the Crucible as Rocket Ronnie crashes out

Is this the World Snooker Championships or the pool table down the pub? Things got very tense in Ronnie's second round loss to Ali Carter...

There’ll be no double-kisses between Ronnie O’Sullivan and Ali Carter this evening as the tension boiled over in their second round match in Sheffield.

Carter defeated the five-time world champion 13 frames to nine in their needle-filled second round match.

The pressure clearly got to the pre-tournament favourite, as the two players barged into one another in the 19th frame when Carter moved to take a shot.

Looking like two lads arguing over the house rules down the local, they just about managed to avoid settling things outside.

O’Sullivan struggled in his first round match against Stephen Maguire before turning on the jets in their second session.

But he couldn’t fight back here, and Carter’s celebrations showed what the win meant to him. He’d lost all 20 of their previous meetings.

Ronnie shouldn’t be too worried about his early exit though, as he has about 160 more years to keep wracking up the titles thanks to his new fitness regime, apparently.
