Paddy Power pay out on Scotland reaching the World Cup quarter finals

Damn typhoon!

With a typhoon giving rugby officials and fans the Hagibis-jeebies, Paddy Power have added some certainty to the chaos – by paying out on Japan, Ireland AND Scotland to reach the quarter-finals* (T&Cs apply).

Though only two of those sides will emerge from Pool A, it seems likely that extenuating factors could determine which of the teams miss out, with Scotland’s crunch clash with Japan on Sunday morning at risk of being washed out.

If that happens, the Scots will be denied a place in the last eight, without having the chance to decide their own fate.

Asked about paying out spokesman Paddy Power said: “The Rugby World Cup makes Brexit look straight-forward and well-planned at the minute – it is absolute chaos.

“We don’t think punters should miss out, which is why we’re paying out now on all three teams – Japan, Ireland, and Scotland – reaching the quarter-finals, whatever the weather.”
