Some of Ireland’s toughest sports personalities started throwing their weight around in the ancient art of Sumo Wrestling ahead of Ireland’s first Rugby World Cup clash v Scotland on Sunday (08:45).
And it wasn’t long before the competitive spirit emerged in each as our ‘Brain verses Brawn’ challenge shows.
Watch as Paddy Power, Donncha O’Callaghan, Ruby Walsh and WWE wrestler Sheamus, travelled to Yokoami in the district of Sumida in Tokyo for the first of the five-part ‘Paddy’s Japan Slam’ web series to celebrate the Rugby World Cup.
“I haven’t got the upper hand on Ruby Walsh on many things, except when it comes to the scales. At least we took the traditional practice beyond a spectator sport, unlike some members of the Irish rugby team pictured here this week,” spokesman Paddy Power joked.
