But some punters do love nothing more than backing a draw and, try as much as you want, you cannot persuade them away from The Dark Side.
And if you can pick the perfect time to take up Paddy’s geneorus offer of a cash out, it’s all the better.
That’s what our lucky punter did as they pocketed £78,123 in total from their £10 punt on 12 draws stretching across Friday night and Saturday afternoon.

They got a bit of head start with seven of the games in-play when they put their stake down on Friday evening. Sabadell v Albacete, Reggiana v Salernitana and Vejle v AC Horsens were already deep into the second-half and lumbering towards 0-0 final scores when the bet was placed, all at odds of less than Even money.

Colin Kazim-Richards provided a crucial 84th-minute strike for Wayne Rooney’s Derby that kept the bet alive, securing a 1-1 draw with the Rams local rivals Nottingham Forest, while two successful penalties in Levante’s draw with Athletic Club de Bilbao in La Liga saw them play out a 1-1 draw as well, making it nine winners from nine.
The Serie B clash between Empoli and Venezia saw another 1-1 draw correctly called at 2/1, and Liverpool then came to the rescue – in Uruguay – as they drew with Penarol thanks to a second-half equaliser in their Primera Division clash in Montevideo.
All of which will have surely had the heart-pumping of even this most determinedly bore-draw backer, who might – just might – have been tempted to let the success of this stunning run ride on the 12th leg of his bet, Bournemouth v Watford on Saturday afternoon in the Championship.
If they’d played out one more draw our shrewdie would’ve collected over £437,000!
Yes, really, we were looking at a six-figure payout to rival the biggest wins in Paddy’s history.
Of course, our winner would’ve had to try to keep himself from climbing the walls as he waited for the final leg of his acca overnight.
As it turned out, he made the smarter decision to take Paddy’s £78,123 offer of a cash out instead, as Bournemouth won 1-0 thanks to an Arnaut Groeneveld goal, meaning ou punter made the all-time greatest cash out call ever by our reckoning.
What a result for a tenner.
