Punter spends his €1 perfectly as he picks 4 lottery balls at odds of 3,800/1

Warren Buffett would be happy with that return.

Ok, so the sporting calendar is pretty bleak at the moment. No proper football (sorry Alexander Lukashenko), no UK and Irish racing, no boxing, no golf, no GAA and no UFC (hey, Dana?). Yea, it’s pretty bleak.

But, a man with a lot of time on his hands will always find a way to make a buck and entertain himself. And none better than our lucky punter from Mitchelstown, Cork. This young buck brought ‘spend wisely’ to another level when he put a paltry €1 on four numbers on Saturday’s lotto draw landing himself a – not life-changing, but pocket-changing – €3,801. Delightful.

The best part about it was it was on the Lotto Plus 1 draw. You never hear of people collecting on that. Well, I don’t anyway. Over at Paddypower.com You can combine your selection on a range of lotteries building a huge odds acca if you want – just like this punter did.

This punters’ winning numbers were 7, 4, 23 and 44. They say you should pick numbers that mean something to you.

Without knowing this guy personally, I’m pretty sure he picked 7 for Dalglish, 4 for big Virgil Van Dijk, 23 for Robbie Fowler and 44 for erm, Jordan Ibe. Yep, that’s definitely it.

Well, congrats my good friend. You’ve been officially invited into the Hall of Fame, not because it’s a huge win, just because it was off a euro and I’m feeling generous with all this Corona craziness going on.

When you come to think of it, there’s not much you can buy with a euro these days. Tesco wine gums (unreal), Eurosaver hamburger (unreal, as well), standard bags of crisps (not Doritos chilli)…

If it’s still going, there are probably odds on it at PaddyPower.com

What do you think?
