Odds slashed on Tom Hardy to be next James Bond

Tom Hardy has overtaken James Norton as the favourite to be next James Bond for the first time in years.

Paddy Power have slashed Hardy’s odds from 4/1 second favourite to 2/1 over the weekend.

James Norton – who has seemingly been auditioning for the role each week in McMafia – is now 5/2, having held the favourite’s spot for several years.

Next up in the betting is Jack Huston of Boardwalk Empire at 6/1, followed by Aidan Turner and Idris Elba at 7/1 and 8/1 respectively.

Asked about the Bond market spokesman Paddy Power said: “Hunky Hardy looked set to take the Bond role up before Daniel Craig decided on one last hurrah.

“Our punters clearly think he’s still in with a shot, though. They’ve been backing him all weekend ahead of the McMafia man.”
