James Bond betting: Tom Hardy favourite to replace Daniel Craig

Could the Dunkirk and The Dark Knight Rises star shoot his way into the 007 role?

Paddy Power has made Tom Hardy favourite to be next James Bond after Daniel Craig revealed the next Bond film will be his final swansong.

Craig fans will be delighted that the star actor has committed to one more film after months of speculation, but the debate on who’ll replace the British actor is already heating up.

Dozens of names have been touted to replace Craig, but Tom Hardy is top of the pile at 4/1 to get the role.

Jack Huston is next in the betting at 9/2 , while Aidan Turner (7/1) and Idris Elba (7/1) have been repeatedly linked with pulling on the famous tuxedo.

We’re going 4/1 for Daniel Craig’s replacement to be a woman, with the chances of that strengthened after Jodie Whittaker was recently named as the new Dr. Who.

You can also grab former X-Files actress Gillian Anderson at 33/1 to take on the iconic role.

Asked about the next person to play James Bond spokesman Paddy Power said: “Daniel Craig fans have been left shaken and stirred after months of speculation on whether the British actor will commit to one more film. Now they can finally relax.

“But Craig has left the door wide open by admitting it will be his last hurrah, and Tom Hardy has been all the rage with punters to replace him.”
