Bond 25: Cara Delevingne favourite to be next James Bond girl

Our traders also expect Christoph Waltz to continue as Blofeld...

With the confirmation that the next Bond film will be released in late 2019, Paddy Power have installed Cara Delevingne as favourite to star alongside Daniel Craig in the spy franchise.

The model-turned-actress is odds-on at 1/2 to land the role, ahead of Game Of Thrones star Emilia Clarke who is available at 8/1, and Harry Potter actress Emma Watson (16/1).

Legendary Bond girl Halle Berry (25/1) is in the running to make a return, ahead of Emily Ratajkowski (33/1), Rihanna (33/1) and Meghan Markle (40/1).

Bond’s nemesis in the film is expected to be played by Christoph Waltz at 4/11, whose Blofeld part wasn’t killed off last time out.

Other candidates, should the lead villain switch to a different character, are Sons of Anarchy star Charlie Hunnam (8/1), and maverick actor Joaquin Phoenix (14/1).

Tom Hiddleston, at one point favourite to succeed Craig as Bond, is now 20/1 to play the role opposite him.

Asked his views on Bond 25 spokesman Paddy Power said: “Craig and Cara would be the Dele-dream team – and Cara’s a Bond fan, having spoken of her dream to be the first female 007.

“Halle Berry returning 15 years on, though, would be incredible – then she could Die Another Day.”
